Comments : This is a great learning experience for future leaders.  I was a company commander and had to get my company were they needed to be on time which is not an easy thing to do when there are 17 recruits who are at different ability levels than their shipmates. Preparing them and training them to become Sea Cadets is not the easiest job in the world, but it’s very rewarding to see them walk across that stage at graduation and know you were a part of developing that cadet into the person they will become.  We did not get much sleep usually 4 hours or less a night and we would have to get the recruits up and be at full alert ounce they were up until taps when we were aloud to relax a bit.  It was a challenging training, but I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to improve upon and develop their leadership skills.

Training Location : Lake Worth, FL
Year of Training : Summer, 2009
Duration of Training : 2 weeks

Overall Grade : A
Difficulty of Training : 3/5
Comments : Recruit Training was a challenge. You have to be able to adapt well to being screamed at by staff cadets and having long classes with a little amount of sleep. However, we did exciting things such as the zip-line and repelling tower, damage control training, and marksmanship. You definitely learn a sense of teamwork and you become close with your shipmates. It's very rewarding when you graduate boot camp.

Trainee : Devin Davis
Name of Training : NSCC Recruit Training Training
Location : Lake Worth, FL
Year of Training : Summer 2009
Duration of Training : 2  weeks
Would recommend?? : Yes
Overall Grade : A Difficulty of Training : 4/5
Comments : Boot camp was a big learning experience. It isn't easy but you learn to handle the stress of the staff in your your face all the time. The best part of Recruit Training is looking back at all the experiences that I had during the 2 weeks. We had fun things to do like marksmanship, damage control training, and we repelled down a three story wall. You also grow stronger mentally and physically throughout the 2 weeks. I would recommend Recruit Training to any recruit looking for a challenge.
